Going into my Junior year at the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business, I am beginning my career in Finance and Real Estate with the essential building blocks that will allow me to construct a successful career in these fields. In the past, I have worked at a country club, a Fortune 500 company, and have had a variety of other professional experiences that have helped shape my career. Over the past summer, I spent time working at Prestonwood Country Club, where I interacted with club guests in order to guarantee satisfaction. Additionally, I utilized Excel sheets to verify information on club members, was often responsible for solely managing the club's fitness center, and developed my personal skills by interacting and greeting members and guests on the day-to-day. Along with working at Prestonwood, I interned at Optum, a UnitedHealth Group company. This Fortune 500 company specializes in healthcare data analytics systems, insurance, and many other subjects. It was my pleasure to find mentorship during the program from Optum's VP of Automation, who acted as my team's supervisor for the duration of the program. This program taught me many lessons, such as how to work in a professional business environment, and how to utilize web applications to communicate with my team and supervisors, and greatly improved my presentation/ skills. Throughout the internship, my team and I developed a solution to COVID-19 medical supply chain issues, and presented it twice to a panel of Optum executives in "shark tanks." This opportunity immensely improved my presentation creation and my presentation skills, and I am very grateful for the opportunity I was given at Optum. As of now, I am searching for an internship-style role for the summer of 2022. I hope to develop mentorship and create strong connections in the field of finance this summer, so don't hesitate to reach out!
