Stress Engineer
CurrentProviding stress engineering support to EPC, operator and owner companies. Performing stress and finite element analysis for design and integrity projects. Developing advanced stress analysis methods, tools and capabilities. Training and reviewing work of colleagues. Preparing and managing project budgets and schedules.• Completed finite element analysis with Abaqus to demonstrate the: • Adequate design of a new custom wye lateral pipe fitting and obtain a CRN • Adequate design of new below and above ground pipelines • Fitness for service of pressure vessels with defects subjected to partial vacuum • Fitness for service of steel pressure-containment repair sleeves for pipelines • Fitness for service of existing above and belowground pipelines subjected to slope movements• Developed Python scripts for Abaqus to automate idealized and as-built model creation, parametric studies and post-processing/evaluation of results• Completed finite element analysis with FE/Pipe and NozzlePro to determine stress intensification factors and flexibilities for piping/vessel/tank components, and to demonstrate acceptability of piping loads on vessel/tank nozzles• Completed stress analysis with AutoPIPE and CAESAR II to demonstrate the adequate design of new process piping and pipeline systems• Developed company standard procedures, calculations and document templates• Applied governing codes and standards (API 579-1/ASME FFS-1, ASME BPVC Section VIII Div. 2 Part 5, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.4, CSA Z662)
