Matthew Brownie is an entrepreneur, conservationist and yacht captain. Matthew started his professional career in the Kruger National Park, working with the communication department upon his completion of his Conservation degree. During this time Matthew spent large periods of time with the SANPARKS veterinary and wildlife services, capturing and working with many of the Kruger’s large mammals. This guided him to become a wilderness trails ranger, where he was one of the youngest to ever lead a Wilderness walking trail in the Kruger Park in the famous Nyalaland trails area. From there a natural progression led to Matthew becoming one of the founding team members of the Singita Lebombo concession where Matthew was involved with the planning and construction of the lodge and road infrastructure and the initial discovery of many of the frequently viewed animal prides and groups on the concession.Matthew’s long for travel and to use his boat building skills that he had developed helping build his father’s sailing yacht, drove him to the yachting industry. Matthew started out as a deckhand and quickly progressed through the ranks, becoming a captain at the age of 27 where he ran his first charter yacht in the med. By 33 Matthew had completed a 60-meter Perini Navi build and continued managing and captaining various yacht and villa projects.As family life beckoned in 2015, Matthew started his first shore-based business, consulting yacht owners on technical matters and refit works. Additionally, Matthew managed a fleet of 7 Yachts as the head of technical management for a small boutique management company.Matthew quickly found an intrinsic need for yacht crew, captain and owners! With growing demand for internet related services, yachts needed assistance with their IT infrastructure and managing their internet connections. In 2019, Twenty4seven ETO and Data was started, and the business has grown exponentially year on year since. Twenty4seven hopes to help captains and crew focus on doing what they do best, navigating and keeping guests safe and happy. Twenty4seven keeps them online!With the need for more autonomous and AI based services, Twenty4seven continues to develop novel solutions for the yachting industry and any remotely connected lodges and hotels.
