Shareholder
CurrentI am shareholder in Miller Starr Regalia’s Walnut Creek office; I practice in the firm's land use, litigation, and appellate practice groups. I work on all stages of land use and real property cases, from initial entitlement and environmental review to subsequent litigation and appellate work. I routinely work on matters involving CEQA, general and specific plans, zoning, use permits, and subdivisions. I have experience representing clients in development and litigation related to mixed use projects, lending, mortgage, redevelopment and municipal projects, receiverships, construction disputes, and mechanics' liens. I also have extensive experience in title and escrow matters (including title insurance). On the appellate side I have represented both parties and amicus curiae in significant appeals throughout the state. I take a pragmatic, problem-solving approach to practicing law. I like to understand my clients' business and cases as thoroughly as possible and am always looking for innovative and creative approaches to the matters on which I work. I particularly enjoy working on cases where the legal questions are complex, thorny, or unsettled. My extensive background in legal writing, analysis, and research provides the foundation for effective advocacy in all areas of my practice.
