Matthew Cantor is an accomplished financial professional and attorney with over twenty years of experience in corporate restructurings. Mr. Cantor is a Senior Managing Director and the head of Pretium’s Legal Opportunities Strategy. Matt also brings his expertise in distressed and stressed investment situations to Pretium’s corporate credit strategies. Prior to joining the Firm, Matt spent nearly a decade winding down the Lehman Brothers estate, serving as its Chief Legal Officer. Prior to Lehman, Matt was a partner in the restructuring group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP and at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP. Matt also was a founding principal of Normandy Hill Capital, an asset manager focused on distressed credit and special situations.Mr. Cantor is a member of Pretium’s Executive Committee. He received a B.A in Economics from The State University of New York at Binghamton and a J.D. from New York University School of Law.
