I am an experienced mass spectrometry practitioner with broad and deep mass spectrometry experience in research, development and business areas. I lead an Instrument Development Team at Waters Corporation as part of a vibrant Clinical business teamBefore Waters, I worked at Shimadzu for almost 15 years. I held responsibility for global MALDI Business Development within Kratos Analytical (a Shimadzu Group company). I also worked extensively in analytical instrument development. Specialising in prototype mass spectrometry instrumentation, particularly ion sources, electrodynamic devices and time-of-flight, I have a broad background in chemistry and physics based research and project leadership.My PhD, under the supervision of Prof Peter Derrick at the University of Warwick, focussed on the development and characterisation of a novel electrodynamic device, the ion conveyor.Specialities: Mass spectrometry, MALDI, electrospray, instrumentation, chemistry, physics, engineering, clinical diagnostics.
