During previous developmental conversations I was asked to identify two core values that truly define both my personal and professional life. Since the person you are at home is the same person you bring to work, my two core values were the following: Service - I live to serve. During business hours, this means serving both colleagues, clients, vendors, and anyone in need of service - which we all are. This means giving your absolute best effort to provide the needs of any individual you interact with, from direct reports, to peers, and leadership, service is core to my identity. In casual cloths, this means serving your family, friends, and even the random individual you cross paths with at the grocery store. Service to me means not thinking about what I can do for me, but obsessing over what I can do for you. Generosity - I consistently dream of generosity. I measure my personal and professional success in not what I can do for myself, but what I can do for others. Similar to the above, I dream of the ways I can be generous to those closest to me and how I can be generous to those who don't and never will know my name. I know generosity is not a trait you have, but a virtue that you chase - and I love the chase! In regards to my career, I've built myself on the two items. They have undeniably served me well across different industries, roles, and goals and I continue to use these as my guide for each and every interaction I have. When we talk, always know that I'm always thinking "what can I do for you?"
