I supported the U.S. Naval submarine fleet as a member of the Submarine Undersea Defensive Systems In-Service Engineering team.

I specialize in the design and development of medical devices and optical systems for compliance with regulatory and electrical safety standards. I assist medical device companies in understanding and navigating the electrical safety and risk management landscape including, but not limited to: 60601 (2nd to 3rd edition transition), 61010 (1st edition withdrawl & 3rd edition transition), ISO 14971 compliance and the recent changes involving the MDD. I can educate clients on the upcoming RoHS 2 directive and the potential impacts to their product line(s).Additionally, I leverage a combination of lean manufacturing techniques with failure analysis reporting to streamline manufacturing processes, saving clients time and money. I provide comprehensive risk analyses based on proven methods.

At Tamgo, we produce a variety of delicious jams and fruit spreads. We pride ourselves in making small batches to ensure freshness and quality goes into each jar. I support all aspects of management, marketing and production of our products. We sell our jams at multiple local farmers markets and small merchants in Kitsap County.

As a Manufacturing Engineer and Project Manager, I was responsible for performance of concurrent root cause failure analyses and implementation of corrective actions. I processed Engineering Change Orders (ECO), Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) efficiently and comprehensively. I created work instructions, assembly procedures and other technical documentation to support manufacturing. • Led interdisciplinary team to launch the Smart Scale 70 ahead of schedule, on budget and in scope in FY12• Led interdisciplinary team to design & develop the neoBLUE blanket on budget and in scope in FY11• Led failure investigation team to identify the root cause and implement successful corrective actions after catastrophic failure two weeks prior to launch of the neoBLUE blanket using Ishikawa diagrams and 5-Whys• Led project to obtain IEC 60601-1:2005 compliance for six products across two divisions of Natus• Saved over $15,000 annually in scrap costs as Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Process Improvement Project Lead, by improving supply chain and manufacturing process for Data Acquisition Module• Led review of corporate risk management policies and procedures to ensure ISO 14971 compliance by performing gap analysis between standard and current RM procedures• Established as Risk Management and IEC 60601 expert and consultant within Natus after proven success in interactions with UL, TUV-R and CSA

I managed the daily activities in the Ion Beam Figuring (IBF) area and for improving the reliability of the IBF process. I reduced the manufacturing scrap costs, conducted Process FMEAs and led the implementation of preventive and corrective actions. I investigated Problem Reports and created operating procedures and other technical documentation to support manufacturing.• Reduced IBF process cycle time from 12 days in FY06 to 1.5 days in FY09 by implementing 5S and lean manufacturing principles• Improved success rate from 86% in FY06 to 95% in FY09 by expanding ion gun performance window, updating training protocols, and improving optics cleaning and handling practices• Reduced production costs for scrapped materials from 13% of total sales base to less than 2.5% in 16 months by leading interdisciplinary teams to improve manufacturing quality throughout organization• Recognized by management for my initiative and my dedication to the success of the organization

• Designed and constructed apparatus for measuring Faraday and Kerr effects in thin films• Characterized magneto-optical response of multiferroic (ferroelectric / ferromagnetic) nanostructured thin films• Imaged magnetic domains in thin films using confocal Kerr microscopy• Worked as part of an interdisciplinary team to design and develop an on-chip, integrated optical interconnect
