I am an economist in the Government Economic Service (GES). From 2016 to August 2019, I worked in the International Group at HM Treasury, focusing on European economics and policy - including substantial involvement in the EU exit process (Brexit). Previously, I worked in the Department for Work and Pensions, and have held short-term posts at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Dublin and at LinkedIn. Before joining the civil service, I completed an Msc with Distinction in Economics at the University of Edinburgh, where my thesis examined contagion in sovereign bond markets during the euro crisis. I graduated from University College Dublin in 2014 with a first class honours BA in Economics, including a year abroad at the University of California, Davis.In addition to strong analytical skills, I have extensive experience in communicating complex ideas and recommendations to senior colleagues and non-experts in a clear and concise manner to drive decision making. I have successfully and independently managed major projects involving a wide range of diverse stakeholders, against challenging deadlines and political backgrounds.I have strong statistical and econometric aptitudes, and proficiency with data processing software such as Excel and Stata. I am an experienced user of R, and am familiar with SAS, SQL, RATS, and Python.
