Critical design considerations included space and thermal constraints, cost and manufacturability of the design during prototype builds. Created initial Bill of Materials for both assemblies and directed the designer to create initial drawings based on customer and manufacturing requirements.Implemented a new diesel fuel filter cap and bowl design which increased the robustness of the product by 100%, which required drawing changes, executing the PV test plan, and customer sign off.Executed seal material change on three different seals in the customers oil filter assembly due to a material shortage including related drawing changes, PV testing, and customer sign off.Coordinated with manufacturing to change a raw material and casting supplier for fifteen different components between three separate production diesel fuel filter products.

    Responsible for Jeep Compass, Cherokee, Grand Cherokee and Dodge Ram steering wheels, Chrysler 300 and Dodge Charger/Challenger curtain airbags, all Navistar steering wheels, Vinfast driver and passenger airbags and inflators that went into various airbag modules.Executed PV test plan and wrote PV report for the launch of the Vinfast Driver airbag.Supported the 1st and 2nd generation single and dual stage driver side inflators, this included managing testing and final test reports.Designed and implemented a wire harness and retainer change for the customer to resolve an assembly issue that the Stellantis manufacturing team was experiencing.Aided with the production line transfers of the Ram pickup and Navistar steering wheels from the legacy manufacturing location to the main production location. Completely transferred five complete steering wheel programs from the legacy Key Safety Systems ARAS to the Joyson Safety Systems TAS PLM systems. This included creating new part numbers for all components and assemblies, building the bill of materials for assemblies and sub-assemblies, and then releasing the related drawings for everything in the system through the change management process.Coordinated design changes with Stellantis to implement engineered leather onto two different steering wheel programs, from the beginning raw material testing to the final steering wheel level implementation at our manufacturing plant.Released engineer responsible for creating and executing the DV test plan and writing the DV test report for the new global Jeep Compass steering wheel program.

    Responsible engineer for transmission clutch assemblies which included: snap rings, pistons, belleville springs, separator plates, and friction discs along with sealing systems including O-rings, bonded pistons, rotating shaft seals on various front and rear-wheel drive and hybrid transmissions.Daily job responsibilities involved collaborating with suppliers, manufacturing engineering, bargaining unit technicians and designers to implement the various quality, manufacturing, customer, and supplier improvements into production.Launched the 850RE transmission clutch components which involved working with eight different suppliers to create DVPR’s and then collaborating with them and internal test engineers to complete the required testing of the eighteen new clutch components, including two new components and three new suppliers to Stellantis transmissions.Manufacturing support including root cause analysis during transmission prototype build. Proactively collaborated with metrology and outside suppliers leading to issue resolutionSupported the purchasing department with supplier sourcing including aiding the suppliers with delivering production level parts for gamma and pre-pilot transmission builds on the SI-EVT hybrid transmission.Designed a hysteresis test fixture for the nine speed C clutch used to evaluate various piston and loose lip seal designs to understand variations in performance.Launched the upgraded overdrive clutch system for the 6-speed rear-wheel drive transmission to match up with the new 6.4L gas engine introduced for the 2014 model year.Implemented a significant design change that ended a low mileage failure that was occurring in the Stellantis six speed front-wheel drive automatic transmission.

Designed, built and assessed the engineering feasibility of an adjustable arm rest prototype for construction equipment using the company’s adjustable pedal technology; the results of the demonstration showed that this technology would not be robust enough for the application and forced the team to come up with a better and more reliable design.
