This position is responsible for all aspects related to recruitment, retention and management of volunteers who are interested in being involved in supporting the settlement of newcomers to Nova Scotia. Responsibilities include promotion, screening, training, placement, and recognition as well as tracking and reporting on volunteer hours and contributions. This position also leads the volunteer-based Canada Connects program, a volunteer-based matching program focused on intercultural interaction and learning to provide support in the settlement and integration process as well as identifying opportunities for and delivering new volunteer-based programming and activities.Responsibilities include• Recruit, screen, orient and train volunteers for placement in YMCA settlement programs and services • Develop onboarding and training materials that support the success and effectiveness of volunteers and volunteer activities • Ensure YMA child protection and vulnerable adult policies and mandates are met• Work collaboratively with all YMCA settlement program areas to understand and support requirements for volunteer placements• Monitor and provide feedback as appropriate • Plan and implement formal and informal volunteer recognition activities to recognize the contribution of volunteers to the organization• Maintain and prepare reports on volunteer hours, statistics and contributions• Attend events and recruiting fairs and act as the lead for volunteer contacts• Identify, develop, and lead new programming and activities that are volunteer-led at YMCA Immigrant Services

Position SummaryThe Centre Support position is responsible for working collaboratively across all program areas to develop professional, consistent, and relevant tools and resources that support effective information sharing about important settlement topics. This position also provides two deep leadership in various programs and activities. Qualifications and Skills· Experience working in a variety of online platforms (Office 365, social media, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Webinars etc.)· Proficient in use of Adobe, InDesign, Photoshop· Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple, competing deadlines and tasks· Facilitation experience and skills an asset· High level of initiative is needed to work independently – creating and responding to opportunities· Ability to demonstrate creative initiative in tool and resource development · Superior interpersonal and communication skills both in one on one and group settings· Attention to detail· Experience working with children, youth, and families

The Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for-Providing ongoing support to the Regional Executive Director, Atlantic Region-Building and maintaining relationships with volunteers, donors, sponsors, community event organizers and media partners-Collaborating with Chapter volunteers on the planning and execution of events-Disseminating regional media advisories, news releases and PSA’s-Supporting the development and maintenance of regional websites and social media feeds-Representing Cystic Fibrosis Canada as required

Boys and Girls Clubs of Canada's The World According to Us is several things:-It’s a platform for young people to express what’s important to you, whatever that might be.-An online site to share videos, blogs, opinions, music, photos, and comments-A national platform to discover what youth are doing at other BGC clubs across the countryThe Site Curator:-Provides and moderates incoming content for The World According to Us website.-Assist users to register on the site, provide content and "Share their Voice"-Provides technical support for users-Creates bug reports for development team-Collects content from nationwide Boys and Girls Clubs social media channels-Bridges Clubs with a unique and interactive website-Visits Clubs to promote the site and collect content in person
