It is a mobile VR publishing & social application focused on storytelling and user-generated content pushing the boundaries of new technology in VR.I led the development efforts in Unity 3D / C#, as well as Android Studio / Java to support multiple layers of the client-side development stack. In addition to leading the development, I also assisted with project management by designing and conducting technical interviews and planning/estimating AGILE sprint plans. Over the course of nearly 13 months we completed development on-time for two commercial-ready versions of the product on Gear VR and Daydream. Some of the major features & product areas I designed and implemented are below:- Client REST architecture (JSON, REST calls, File I/O)- 2D & 3D UI development in Unity- Built the Vicarious Android library which supports all of our VR projects by providing native functionality not exposed in C#- User-story playback engine (displaying images/videos/music in VR)- Worked closely with our server team to ensure client and server implementations are as efficient as possible- Designed and implemented an Asynchronous texture loader that allowed displaying 4K textures efficiently in Unity and VR (supported by our Android library)- Designed and implemented user generated content UI's and features (lists/logins/etc)- Designed and implemented the upload and download architecture in our Android library by utilizing Android services and 3rd party HTTP libraries- Worked directly with Google's early access Daydream team & Daydream Unity/Android APIs to develop bleeding edge VR technology and even helped address some internal platform bugs- Designed/Implemented/Tested a commercial Gear VR application with similar requirements to our Daydream application during the same time frame

I successfully completed client-side development for a variety of projects during my time as a Software Engineer at Samsung Research. Since I worked on individual projects, as well as commercial projects, I was able to handle a constantly changing team-size and dynamic requirements. The majority of these projects were commercial Android applications or small Gear VR applications and games. I developed and shipped an Android SDK on the Samsung View tablet in 2015 to track events, which shipped to millions of consumers worldwide. I also developed critical UI features in Java/Android Studio on large commercial Android and Gear VR projects (sometimes projects would have 20+ developers). In my spare time, I would work on demos and mini-games using C# and Unity 3D to build engaging Gear VR applications. These projects facilitated working closely with our design and server teams to build world class client experiences

As a teaching assistant in SMU's School of Engineering, I was responsible for enhancing the learning environment in both undergraduate and graduate level computer science courses. The classes I managed included Intro. to Java/C++ and User interface development. I would not only assist in the understanding of course material in various programming languages, but I would also assist in writing/evaluating assignments and projects, helping students debug and test code and conduct lab sessions for reinforcement. Some of the languages and tools I taught include C++, Java, Android development, Eclipse/Android Studio (IDE usage), REST APIs, Object oriented programming and much more.

Maintained and developed new features for the internal unit testing framework on Hewlett-Packard's Insight Power Control software. The unit testing framework improved product quality by providing extensive code coverage and reducing the potential for bugs. I not only updated deprecated unit tests, but I also wrote new unit tests in Java/Flex and improved the overall unit testing user-interface. This ultimately improved the Quality and Minimal Acceptance Testing process by enhancing the unit testing suite. Skills utilized: Eclipse IDE, Java/Flex.
