While leading our reputation and abuse team, I built a rules engine that reacts in real-time to over a billion events per day based on rules defined by anyone in the company using a simple interpreted domain language I developed.I have also trained machine learning classifiers to detect fraudulent accounts and fine-tuned large language models to do ham and spam classification in real time.Previously led the internal analytics team, where I implemented services aggregating over a billion data points a day into customer facing metrics, log aggregation tools and customer email list validations.Mentored developers across the entire org in multiple disciplines and participated in more than 50 technical interviews across every engineering team in the organization.Onboarded and trained 4 new software developers for my team, one of whom is a manager now and 2 others are senior.Took ownership of our Kafka-based events pipeline, where I migrated multiple portions to more modern, stable technologies.

Led a team of talented engineers building out multiple generations of durable bare-metal booting platforms while providing architecture in an advisory role to the larger business unit.Implemented a cutting-edge bare metal booting and orchestration platform written in Go, which PXE boots over IPv6 into functional Openstack and Kubernetes deployments

Implemented Cloud Servers 2.0 on top of the Slicehost acquisition, built on Ruby-on-Rails, which served hundreds of thousands of customers. Key implementations in all areas of public cloud architecture including: scaling, billing integration, VNC consoling, Windows on public cloud and cloud-based automated backups.Founding member of the Openstack project and Nova Core Developers, where I was part of the core team ensuring the quality and scalability of both the open source cloud and Rackspace’s deployment. Managed a team of senior developers at Rackspace on the Cloud Servers team and contributed Python code to Nova, helped design the Melange IPAM stack and designed and implemented version 2 of the Quantum (now Neutron) networking component.Led development of the future of Cloud Networking at Rackspace in the form of a core Neutron plugin known as Quark. Quark provides highly-scalable IPAM and is at least twice as performant as any plugin in the Neutron repo, while matching any of them feature for feature.Implemented bleeding-edge networking features on top of Nicira’s software-defined-networking platform NVP (now called NSX) which included tenant-based logical switching, hybrid networking topologies and highly-configurable security groups.
