WHAT I DOI create workplaces where employees don’t just survive…they thrive! I am a consummate builder of high-performing teams, and make sure the talents of everyone are recognized and maximized. I know how to put together people whose skills complement each other. It’s the best way to get the work done, and it’s why I’ve kept personnel retention at 98% for many years while also driving continuous improvement and producing gains in revenue and profit.I look at adversity as part of life, and view challenges as opportunities for growth. I don’t get upset or confused when the unexpected happens. I evaluate the pros and cons of the situation, decide, and take immediate action to solve the problem. I am patient, honest, empathetic, and able to build strong, trust-based relationships with those under my supervision as well as customers, executive managers, vendors and others with whom I interact during daily business. WHAT I’VE DONEI accepted an invitation from the Director of Lab Operations to become the manager of a distribution center that processed orders for 225 separate locations every day. Soon after arriving, I restructured how products were moved, and delivered a 20% decrease in transportation costs.I partnered with IT and a third-party integration company to build a new inventory management system that is projected to save the company $250K a year.I grew a laboratory operation from being able to handle about 450 orders a day to more than 1,000, and from being a low revenue generator to producing $11M a year in sales.I took leadership roles in two major capital projects. One, representing an investment of $1.4M by the company, was to transition from traditional to digital surfacing technology. That money was recovered in 18 months. The second, to add a new lab, reduced AR Coating expenses by 46%, and that investment was recovered in just over 2 years.

Distribution Center ManagerEyecare Partners Llc. Oct 2016 - Jun 2018I oversaw 24 employees across multiple functions. I managed supplies/inventory, HR, operating and capital budgets, and was accountable for P&L. I teamed with senior leaders and other department managers to develop and execute plans that accommodated internal expansion and growth through acquisition. When the company restructured in 2018, various distribution positions were combined, and the management position I held was no longer viable.DELIVERED RESULTS• I increased efficiency and cut costs by completely reorganizing the warehouse.• I partnered with IT and a third-party integration firm to build a new inventory management system (from the ground up, and with no prior roadmap to follow), and delivered a system that is projected to save the company $250K per year.

When the company was purchased by Eyecare Partners LLC, I was invited to join the new enterprise as manager of a distribution center.DELIVERED RESULTS• I managed a lab that became the second integrated retail lab in the United States to be awarded a contract from one of the largest vision care providers in the nation. To meet the demands of this new opportunity, I doubled the lab’s capacity, and immediately positioned it as a profit center. In the first year, we produced revenue more than $1.2M.• I maintained employee retention at 98% by creating a culture where expectations were clearly defined, people were treated fairly, and contributions were recognized and rewarded.• I streamlined purchasing methods to save the company $24K a month ($288K annually).• I led two capital projects, each of which quickly recovered the investment.
