During this internship period I had the privilege of working on several projects. One main project involved installing a full membrane roof system on a new building. I was able to work with a team and learned many new skills related to the construction process. I spent the majority of this internship period working on various roof maintenance projects. This involved working alongside other maintenance professionals to repair/install many different roof types including shingle, metal, and membrane.

Curtis Construction is primarily a commercial roofing company. My main responsibility while working with this company was to transfer project information from paper to Dataforma, an online database. I have become very familiar with Dataforma and have trained other employees on its use. I also assisted with multiple roof inspections and attended several prebid meetings. My experience also involved working with sales staff to reach out to potential clients.

I served as a research assistant while at ECU Family Medicine. My research was related to the access that rural communities have to health care. I also planned and coordinated recruiting fairs at the school.

Project Success is a grant-funded Student Support Services program sponsored by the Department of Education to support eligible students in achieving academic success. I was trained to empower students as they take control of their educational decisions while providing the support they need to make independent decisions.
