In this placement as part of my degree, I performed administrative duties such as ‘booking in’ patients for their appointments, as well as providing a point of contact. This role allowed me to gain experience in an administrative capacity, learning valuable on the job experience, namely the importance of efficient administrative systems.

During a gap year in New Zealand before undertaking my degree I worked on apple orchards in Hawkes Bay. My duties involved thinning the apples ready to be picked, engaging in multiple pickings of each apple to ensure the quality of exports and pruning the tress after picking season to ensure a sufficient yield of crop will be available for the next season. I was also fortunate to work on a plant nursery, ensuring a sturdy root stock could be grown. This job role pushed me to work physically for long hours at a fast pace to ensure the profitability for the company. This was a tiring role with a strong focus on attention to detail and quality.
