Responsible for the sourcing, contract negotiation, cost management, fulfillment and quality of all raw ingredients + packaging for a high growth, D2C organic frozen food business that reached $250MM in revenue by the 5th year of doing business.- One of the first 20 employees at Daily Harvest, built the sourcing department and sourcing strategy that supported 8x growth and supported over 115+ new SKUs and 11+ new collection launches over a 4 year span.- Built a sustainable sourcing strategy that included program goals around transitional organic, regenerative organic, agrobiodiversity and supplier diversity.- Partnered with FSQA to build an industry leading food safety program specific to Daily Harvest’s risk profile, onboarding over100+ suppliers, developed 250+ component specifications, participated in 20+ supplier audits, and converted 85% of IQF vegetables to RTE status.- Worked with the culinary team to develop 175+ new ingredients, increasing cross utilization system wide to 72%.- Developed sourcing protocols for 7 Daily Harvest manufacturing facilities that included guidelines for supplier on-boarding, purchasing, receiving and inventory procedures, change management, issue tracking & resolution and bill pay.- Managed a team of 5 people: 3 category buyers, 1 packaging engineer and 1 sourcing associate, having helped 3 reports get promoted.- Oversaw a budget of $75MM for a program of 65+ supplier relationships and 250+ organic domestic and global ingredients; categories include frozen fruits & vegetables, nuts, oils, spices, pulses, grains, cocoa, coconut, and specialty.- Achieved savings of 500 BPS from 2017-2021 purchases.- Responsible for sourcing tool and software development that supported contract negotiations & pacing, liabilities, demand planning, recipe costing.
