With over 20 years’ experience in sales and marketing for large multinationals in the Pharmaceutical, Tech, Telecoms, Consumer Electronics, Retail and Print industries, I have worked on both the client side and in consultancy leading teams with multi-million dollar P&L responsibility across a range of geographies. I have a versatile skill-set and am equally comfortable on the sales and marketing side as I am at managing the financials. One of my favourite sentiments comes from businessperson and writer, Max De Pree, when he says “The first responsibility of a leader is to define reality. The last is to say thank you. In between, the leader is a servant”. In my time as a people leader, I have tried to live this philosophy first hand when building and managing teams. One of the things I gain most satisfaction from is seeing those I work closely with succeed individually and collectively. I am at my best when I am supporting others and am a strong believer in communicating not only shared direction but also praise which leads me to another of De Pree’s pieces of advice that I have tried to follow which is to, "Err on the side of over-communication." The path I have taken has seen me take the reigns on the creative ideation side as well as the analytical and financial side and when these things are combined they become quite powerful. Outside of work, I gain most enjoyment from spending time with my family and friends but when I'm not doing that I enjoy watching most sports, especially rugby. I play golf (badly) and am a regular runner having completed one marathon with an ambition to try another one soon.
