About Matt D.
I am seeking a place to challenge and push myself to the limits of my abilities. I have experience working with people from many different age groups, ranging from when I coached high school lacrosse, to working as a lead in the Aztec Racing Formula FSAE team. I work extremely well with others, which leads to people to seek working with me whenever a team project is available. I also work exceptionally well by myself, as I am self-motivated and do not shy away from hard work.I believe every challenge provides an opportunity for growth both as a person and as a professional; and I am always looking to grow and become better. I find that these attributes tend to affect the people surrounding me as well, which translates into growth for the entire team. I seek to challenge my teammates to become the best versions of themselves, and I seek teammates who will challenge me to become the best version of myself.I have a strong passion for the automotive field, and have been involved in it since high school where I took my first autobody repair class. I also took an engine rebuild course and an engine diagnostics course at Cuyamaca College. Additionally, I have personal experience in the automotive field as a hobby, where I’ve done automatic-to-manual transmission conversions, diagnosis of engine problems, full tear-down and rebuild of engines, as well as installation and fine-tuning of all suspension parts, including full coil-overs, steering rack/tie rods, control arms, tension rods, traction rods, sway bars, and strut brace bars. As you can see I have a vast understanding of the field as a whole.I have a love for working on CAD as well. I have always been an artistic person, so I view CAD as an extension of that, and really enjoy the process. I have worked on CAD in all of my university group projects, including Engineering Design group project, Senior Design group project, Mechanical Structures and Materials group project, and the FSAE team projects, so I have a lot of experience working with CAD programs, including both SolidWorks and CREO.
