I represent the company with government officials and staff (Congress, federal agencies, and Eastern and Midwestern states), monitor legislation and regulations, participate in trade association activities, and analyze business opportunities and risks from a policy perspective. I also work closely with Blink's federal and state consultants and lobbyists.

Leading public policy engagement for SemaConnect (before its acquisition by Blink), I represented the company with stakeholders at all levels of government, monitored legislation and regulations, participated in trade association activities, and analyzed business opportunities and risks from a policy perspective. In October 2021, I was promoted to director-level from manager.

Following BP's reorganization in 2020, I drafted external posts for senior executives on LinkedIn and Yammer and wrote articles for the daily, global, company-wide newsletter, "In-the-Know" (ITK). In addition, I helped drive key message alignment for the company in the United States.

Coordinating with colleagues from U.S. Government Affairs and Legal, I provided analysis of short and long-term risks and opportunities affecting countries and regions of interest and advocated on behalf of BP with policymakers, primarily at the U.S. Department of State. I also planned visits for senior international business executives to meet with government officials in Washington, DC. I helped mitigate risk and support informed commercial decisions by helping company leaders better understand how U.S. foreign policy affects the company's interests worldwide.

In a role reporting to the Head of State & Local Affairs (in Houston) and working closely with the Vice President for U.S. Government Affairs (in Washington, DC), I managed BP America's multi-million dollar Government Affairs budget and analyzed the team's spending, led the company's relationships with the Democratic and Republican Governors Associations, and helped plan BP America's participation in the 2016 Democratic and Republican national conventions. In addition, I worked with BP colleagues and Infosys to design and launch a new, internal website for requesting and approving BP America's nationwide donations/community investments. I also successfully recommended and rolled out the procurement of Quorum's stakeholder engagement platform.

I helped write and edit BP's first U.S. Economic Impact Report. (The 2013 EIR was a commended entry for BP's top recognition, The Helios Awards.) I wrote for the Employee PAC and U.S. intranet, and created fact sheets about the company's U.S. businesses to provide the press team and executives with talking points. I also drafted internal policy briefing notes on NGO stakeholder engagement, rail transportation of crude oil, and competitors' community engagement activities.Other work included editing the "Back to Work in the Gulf"​ section of the 2012 corporate Sustainability Report, monitoring media coverage and contributing to emergency response activities in the U.S., developing content for the Twitter account of the Senior Vice President for U.S. Communications & External Affairs, and updating talking points on a weekly basis for C&EA team members and executives.

As a trusted advisor, I drafted and edited letters, speeches, and op-eds for Baker Institute director and retired career diplomat Ambassador Edward Djerejian and the institute's honorary chairman, former U.S. Secretary of State James A. Baker, III. Working with Rice Media Relations, I helped to increase the Baker Institute's media citations by 60% in two years. I also coordinated the institute's Middle East conflict resolution program and organized Track Two workshops involving U.S., Israeli, and Palestinian participants. These culminated in the publication of the 2010 report, "Getting to the Territorial Endgame of the Israeli-Palestinian Peace Settlement."

In this role, I researched and wrote articles and essays on energy geo-politics, climate change policies, and corporate social responsibility. I also helped plan domestic and international energy conferences in Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Doha, Dubai, Houston and Washington, DC, and supervised two staff as well as interns.-- Helped coordinate multi-year research projects, including the Baker Institute's 2007 national oil companies study.-- Selected as a Salzburg Seminar Fellow (Salzburg, Austria) for the symposium “East Asia and the United States: A Search for Common Values” (June 2007).-- Served as rapporteur for the Salzburg Seminar's session 429, "The Asian Energy Challenge and Implications for the OECD: Asia, the U.S., and Europe" (December 2005).
