Matthew serves as Senior Vice President, Global Procurement, reporting to the company’s CFO. In this role, Matthew leads Regeneron’s global procurement organization, accountable for ~$9 billion of enterprise spend across all COGS, SG&A, R&D, and Capital categories globally. Matthew is accountable for the company’s sourcing, contracting, and supplier management capabilities along with the processes and technologies to enable efficiency across these areas. In these roles, he led approximately 200 colleagues globally with accountability across £5 billion of GSK spend.In addition, Matthew played an important role in delivering multiple cross-enterprise priorities for GSK. Matthew led the development and implementation of the company’s Supplier Relationship Management Program, driving innovation, joint investment, and ESG priorities across GSK’s most significant partners. He led GSK’s Covid-19 response, supporting the development of national testing capabilities in the UK and Belgium, employee return-to-work testing in the US and UK, and communication with leaders in the UK Government. He also successfully led pre-integration planning for the GSK-Pfizer Consumer Health joint venture including day-one readiness, operational continuity, and synergy delivery across procurement.

As Executive Director, Corporate Initiatives and Integrations, Matthew was accountable for the integration of acquired companies into Allergan. In this role, Matthew led the Integration Management Office for specific acquisitions; coordinated pre-integration planning, communication, and synergy targets; and oversaw the post-close implementation of each. As part of this responsibility, he led the alignment and integration of business processes, systems, locations, and resources across Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, R&D, HR, IT, Facilities, and other corporate functions in support of Allergan’s multi-billion-dollar acquisitions. In addition, Matthew was responsible for driving corporate initiatives under the COO related to company-wide operational excellence and cross-functional process improvements within customer operations, supply chain, distribution, manufacturing, quality, finance, and shared services globally. While in this role, Matthew was also a member of Allergan’s Global Leadership Team, responsible for driving strategy and culture across 17,000 colleges globally.

As the Global Head of Research & Development Procurement at Allergan, Matthew led sourcing, supplier management, and procurement in support of Allergan’s $1.7 billion annual research and development investment globally. Matthew was accountable for R&D procurement worldwide, segments of Indirect and Direct procurement, as well as due diligence activities for select acquisitions and inlicensing opportunities. His responsibilities included R&D suppliers across laboratory, preclinical, clinical development, pharmaceutical sciences, investigational sites, advisory services, contingent labor, as well as the other products and services supporting global research and development activities company wide. Matthew joined Allergan through the combination of Forest Laboratories, Actavis, and Allergan and transformed the organization, its processes, and its engagement with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that Allergan’s financial, development timelines, and risk mitigation objectives were consistently achieved. While in this role, Matthew received Allergan’s 2017 CEO Award in recognition for excellence in leadership, results, and behaviors.

As the Senior Director, R&D Sourcing at Forest Laboratories, Matthew led the consolidation of all research and development sourcing activities across the company’s corporate, clinical subsidiary, information technology, and acquired organizations. Matthew’s responsibilities included the sourcing, procurement, supply management, and governance activities supporting Forest’s pharmaceutical research and clinical development programs globally, including all R&D procurement and segments of Direct and Indirect procurement. His responsibilities included suppliers across pharmaceutical R&D, preclinical development, clinical development, pharmaceutical ingredients/production, contingent labor, and all other products and services supporting global research and development. Matthew and his team significantly and positively transformed the way Forest interacted with and oversaw its research and development suppliers in preparation for the organization’s continued growth and influence through its multiple acquisitions and integrations.

As the Senior Director of Global Supply Chain Operations at Flextronics, one of the world’s largest vertically integrated global supply chain service companies, Matthew was accountable for the introduction, manufacturing, and delivery of more than $1 billion of telecommunications, networking, and enterprise products and services annually. His responsibilities included the management of end-to-end customer supply chain operations across facilities in Asia, Europe, North America, and South America; direct procurement, the implementation of Lean manufacturing, supply chain, and replenishment initiatives; and product quality, delivery, and fulfillment. Matthew also played an important role in the integration of two multi-billion dollar acquisitions during his time at Flextronics.

During his eight-year tenure at Lucent Technologies, a global provider of telecommunications and enterprise products, services, and software, Matthew held a number of positions, each with increasing levels of accountability and results. Most recently, he oversaw the operations of Lucent’s Supply Chain Engineering and Demand Planning organization. In this role, he was responsible for the supply chain development and lifecycle management for emerging market products and leading initiatives focused on the continuous improvement of Lucent’s manufacturing operations. Also during his time at Lucent, Matthew played an active role in the transformation of the company’s outsourced manufacturing and commodity management models. He had direct accountability for the $1.5 billion implementation of Lucent’s contract manufacturing procurement strategy, material spend, and associated margin improvements, as well as the talent, processes, and systems responsible for its oversight and implementation.Matthew also had considerable international experience while at Lucent Technologies. He relocated to Europe for an expatriate assignment where he was accountable for developing strategic relationships with the company’s most significant wireless networking suppliers globally; led direct, technology, and professional services procurement; had direct reports within both Europe and North America; and travelled extensively throughout Europe, Asia, and North America. Matthew was a contributing member of the Lucent Supply Chain Networks organization that was awarded Purchasing Magazine’s Medal of Excellence. While at Lucent, Matthew played an active role in the sourcing, commodity, manufacturing, contracts, and inventory management across the following technologies: software, wireless networking, optical networking, and microelectronics.
