My practice is focused on construction law and commercial litigation. I also have experience in the areas of insurance recovery and appellate practice. I manage cases at all stages of the construction process, from project correspondence and scope disputes to change order and final payment disputes. I am also experienced with a variety of alternative-dispute-resolution mechanisms such as dispute review boards and the ODOT step process. I also have experience preparing, filing, and defending against lien and bond claims. I represent sophisticated clients through all stages of litigation and arbitration by drafting complaints and responsive pleadings, taking and defending depositions, drafting and responding to dispositive motions, participating in jury trials, and obtaining successful results on appeal, as well as participating in all aspects of the arbitration process. I am a regular contributor to Hahn Loeser's Construction Law Insights blog, which you can read at https://www.constructionlawinsights.com. I also frequently provide client trainings and presentations on construction law topics.I served as counsel to the Appellate Rules Committee of the Ohio Supreme Court Commission on the Rules of Practice and Procedure for several years, giving me a solid understanding of the Rules of Procedure of the Ohio court system.Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Jessica, reading history and philosophy, and rowing on the Cuyahoga River.
