I wrote some example documentation describing the OECD's SharePoint system and their XML authoring system.

As a technical author, I document the BBC's systems for creating and delivering their news web-site. My documents are aimed at BBC programmers and system architects.

As a bid writer, I wrote proposals for SQS to provide software services for legal and financial companies, such as Bradford & Bingley and Eversheds.

As a ghost writer, I wrote a book on managing software projects using Agile methods. I learnt about the subject by talking to experts then I structured the book to describe how to apply the experts’ ideas to software projects.

As a technical author, I wrote and edited procedures for various parts of the environment agency, including field work, health & safety and HR.

As a Microsoft Word designer and trainer, I created Word templates for documents such as agendas, reports, and business cases. I then trained employees in the use of the templates and in the use of Word in general. In addition, as a business analyst, I helped design procedures and software systems for dispatching and tracking field engineers.

As a technical author, I created use-cases, requirements, UML diagrams and specifications for set-top boxes. I designed APIs to allow applications to run on Sky products. In addition, as a Microsoft Word designer and trainer, I created Word templates and training courses in the same way as Arqiva, described above.

Empower Interactive produced text message routing products for the mobile phone industry. I was employed as a technical author and trainer to:• develop documentation with Framemaker and Visio• build intranet pages (including wikis) for staff to find relevant documentation• train operators in telecoms products that use SS7, GSM and Unix• develop and run training courses and manage the training course schedule

Symbian produce ‘Symbian OS’, an operating system for mobile phones. Tao produced the ‘Intent’ operating system for consumer electronics. I spent two years as a technical author and trainer. My role was to:• document Tao Group's operating system, programming APIs and user interface APIs.• write documents in HTML, Word and FrameMaker.• manage the technical author team.• deliver one-day to two-week training courses for programmers.• handle support requests • produce training materials and example code.I also spent two years as a programmer writing in assembler and C.
