I wrote some example documentation describing the OECD's SharePoint system and their XML authoring system.

As a technical author, I document the BBC's systems for creating and delivering their news web-site. My documents are aimed at BBC programmers and system architects.

As a bid writer, I wrote proposals for SQS to provide software services for legal and financial companies, such as Bradford & Bingley and Eversheds.

As a ghost writer, I wrote a book on managing software projects using Agile methods. I learnt about the subject by talking to experts then I structured the book to describe how to apply the experts’ ideas to software projects.

As a technical author, I wrote and edited procedures for various parts of the environment agency, including field work, health & safety and HR.

As a Microsoft Word designer and trainer, I created Word templates for documents such as agendas, reports, and business cases. I then trained employees in the use of the templates and in the use of Word in general. In addition, as a business analyst, I helped design procedures and software systems for dispatching and tracking field engineers.

As a technical author, I created use-cases, requirements, UML diagrams and specifications for set-top boxes. I designed APIs to allow applications to run on Sky products. In addition, as a Microsoft Word designer and trainer, I created Word templates and training courses in the same way as Arqiva, described above.

• Empower Interactive produced text message routing products for the mobile phone industry. I was employed as a technical author and trainer to:
• develop documentation with Framemaker and Visio
• build intranet pages (including wikis) for staff to find relevant documentation
• train operators in telecoms products that use SS7, GSM and Unix
• develop and run training courses and manage the training course schedule

• Symbian produce ‘Symbian OS’, an operating system for mobile phones. I was employed as a technical author to:
• write XML web-based documentation for programmers, including UML diagrams
• convert the XML to HTML to create pages for the intranet and Internet
