Upon joining SPI lasers my core responsibility was the design, development and manufacturing introduction of fibre laser oscillators and amplifiers for high power systems. In recognition of excelling in this role I currently lead the optical development work on the new architecture of SPI’s high power kW laser systems.I am experienced at working with fast paced multi-disciplinary teams to create bespoke optical architectures designed for optimised optical, mechanical, electronic, thermal, cost and manufacturing performance.

My Ph.D. focussed on the use and fabrication of specialist (hollow core) fibre optics to propagate high power pulses. During my Ph.D. I demonstrated and developed components designed to improve the performance of a collaboratoring company's lasers products, writing multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and presenting at several international conferences.
