He has performed waste audits, written solid waste management plans and best practice guides for municipalities and developed policy papers on improving waste collection fees. Matthew’s specific project was to identify municipalities and/or governorates who could pilot methane capture systems, work with Iraqi Landfill Methane Capture Expert STTA to assess the feasibility of landfill methane capture at selected sites and which technologies and methods could be used with tentative action plans, noting any jurisdictions that have already incorporated lessons learned. This included a number of landfill site visits in Iraq and assessing them against Landfill Methane Capture criteria. -
