Continuing with the Global Government Affairs team, I am now focused on HIV prevention and the launch of Cabotegravir as PrEP. This includes global advocacy strategies, stakeholder engagement, policy, and innovative models of access through public health partnerships. My overarching goal is to ensure diverse communities have access to long-acting PrEP, and to focus governments and public health on investing in HIV prevention options.

My role at ViiV is to foster global partnerships and promote the improved health and wellbeing of people living with HIV. I drive ViiV’s global public health strategy, and support local and regional teams in their policy, advocacy, government relations and community-based work. This includes our business planning cycles, global government affairs initiatives for HIV prevention, international projects such as Fast Track Cities, and promoting cross-functional collaborations to improve health outcomes.

ViiV is a company dedicated to HIV.My responsibilities at ViiV are divided between four main functions:1- Strategic relationships, including fostering partnerships with the HIV community to ensure that ViiV is rooted in HIV response across the country.2- Communications strategy, including corporate reputation management, public relations, sponsorships, and branding.3- Strategic initiatives which advance HIV response, including Fast Track Cities, public-private partnerships, HIV-related campaigns, and projects within LGBT and indigenous communities.and 4- Corporate leadership, including risk management, leadership team strategy, and employee engagement initiatives such as SPECTRUM, our LGBT employee network.

Montreal, Canada

ACCM is Quebec's sole anglophone HIV services organization. We have more than 36 prevention and support programs for people living with, or at risk for, HIV and hepatitis C. Our work is driven by 16 staff and 250 volunteers. My role at ACCM is evenly divided between program management, fundraising, community and media relationship building, and supporting our dedicated staff. Key achievements this year include a 1200% increase in unrestricted funds, doubling our gay men's prevention programming, landing two 5-year partnership agreements with the Public Health Agency of Canada--including a project that will see 100 trans- and queer-led youth projects in Montreal high schools--and the expansion of SextEd, our text-based helpline for youth.

For the past 4 years, I have taught part-time in the department of Women's Studies and Feminist Research at Western University. I've taught Introduction to Sexuality Studies, Making Men: Critical Studies in Masculinity, Introduction to Gay Culture, Sex and Disability, and Race, Class, and Sexuality.

Toronto

My role at Pride Toronto is to facilitate our 55 Team Leads, 175 Team Members, and 1600 Weekend Volunteers as they work to plan, organize, and execute Toronto's annual Pride celebration. I oversee our recruitment process, volunteer training, conflict management and resolution, and community engagement. Much of my time is dedicated to building productive, cooperative relationships with community groups, including other queer and trans organizations, volunteer groups, AIDS service organizations, nonprofits, and corporate bodies to both promote the festival and secure lasting partnerships. Working in the service of our communities is important to us at Pride Toronto, and I am proud to further this goal in the organizational relationships I create. I oversee the research process, which builds our annual economic impact report, our post-event analysis, and our strategic planning initiatives. Other teams that report to me include Family Pride, Clean, Sober & Proud, Weekend Food and Beverage, the Human Rights Conference, and the Weekend Volunteer team, who spearhead our mass recruitment drive.
