Founded Snapspheres, a unique creator of custom globes. The only provider of small run globes from art, photography, or planetary bodies. We created a patent-pending method of creating high-quality globes by partitioning the sphere into geometric pieces similar to a soccer ball. Each piece is printed on our flatbed printers and attached to each other magnetically.We receive rave reviews from customers mentioning the quality, uniqueness and high customer service. We run a high speed R&D environment that is often pushing new products. This project is currently a bit of a hobby project but continues to be fun and generally successful. This is a contract position developing 3d simulation software for Vitro3D. The company is trying to develop a revolutionary new technology called volumetric 3d printing. The software was in the proof-of-concept stage and written in MATLAB. I was my responsibility to translate the code with the focus on performance and usability. The architecture I chose is the one I'm most familiar with: WebGL, Vue, and NodeJS.The result was an interactive web-based application, simulating how 3d voxels polymerize in laser light under parameters set by the user. I worked as the sole developer in close collaboration with the very talented Vitro team.The program uses datasets often in the gigabytes. The simulations are run on multiple threads upon the server. Results of the simulation is reported to the client upon request.

Forest of Lights is a project to develop our family land. We are building hundreds of internet enabled devices such as lights, switches, speakers and props to create a unique interactive play experience in the woods. The players positions will be tracked and they will carry small controllers to encourage interactivity.The technology makes heavy use of Raspberry's Pico W microcontroller. Each device is connected to a central server which directs the game according to user interactions and scripts. As the company grew, I filled a number of different roles and experienced the software process mature.Work was primarily in C++ but also JavaScript, TypeScript, WebGL, C#, ASP, and ASP.net. We were a Windows shop using Visual Studio, MS SQL Server Management Studio, and MFC. Experience:- Agile methodology. Course centered on managing teams, keeping them on track, handing conflicts, and the role effective managers play. Very useful to non-managers as well.

Contracted to create an OpenGL application in C++ to visually display STEP files. Mentored by 2 professors. I was able to read and display the test STEP files that had a high degree of complexity before handing the project over.

Contracted as a member of a 2 member QA department that tested floodplain mapping software. Testing was done manually and with a test automation suite called TestComplete, which used VB Script. Gained knowledge of GIS software (ArcGIS) and the Shapefile file format.
