As president of the Durham Chapter of EWB UK, I worked to further the charity’s mission of putting ‘global responsibility at the heart of engineering, ensuring a safe and just future for all’. During my time I successfully championed the charity's core values whilst putting on events, leasing with other societies and engaging with a diverse student cohort to significantly grow the society.

As part of the R&D team my key roles were conducting electrical testing, analysing results and investigating further applications of the company's patented technology. I also worked closely with the marketing team, translating complex engineering reports into clear, concise messages for both marketing purposes and briefings for the CEO and other board members.

My chief responsibility was to audit and help write the University’s end of year sustainability report. Further projects include working on eco-friendly housing, using graphic design to produce explanatory info graphics, meeting with contractors about sustainable building and engaging the student body to improve their environmental consciousness.
