In this role I'm responsible for ensuring delivery of key project outcomes for a wide variety of Naval projects, and ensuring those outcomes support and align with key business objectives. This includes over fifty individual projects with a contract value in excess of $200m. As a part of the Maritime Leadership team, I provide input on Maritime strategy development, business process improvement and help to lead the Maritime organisation through the ever-present challenge of increasing complexity and constant change.

Responsible for teams managing the design change, installation, test and activation of the Aegis Combat System (supplied via FMS) and key above water weapon systems (including Mk 45 Gun, Harpoon, CIWS, Typhoon, CML and Torpedoes - supplied via direct commercial sales) on the Air Warfare Destroyer.Leading a multi-disciplinary team of around 40 people from several different organisations in a highly fluid environment, which ensuring safe, high quality work practices and building team culture.Managing and building strong relationships with seven international subcontractors to help achieve key objectives of the AWD project.Managing earned value in a complex EVMS environment with responsibility for the successful implementation and operation of hundreds of millions of dollars of FMS and DCS equipment and the Air Warfare Destroyers.

Air Warfare Destroyer Systems Centre

Responsible for procurement of weapon and sensor subsystems from a variety of international vendors (in excess of $175m). Managing the related engineering effort, managing multiple small teams of engineers and local procurements.Leading teams through successive project milestones (CDRs, FATs).Responsible for budget and schedule as the CAM for multiple teams, reporting up through a full Earned Value framework.Including management of a team tasked with engineering effort related to acquisition of a large amount of Foreign Military Sales (FMS) equipment.Liaising with vendors, corporate and program stakeholders to ensure a best for program result.

Air Warfare Destroyer Systems Centre

Implementation and coordination of Contract Amendments for the $4bn AWD Program.Reporting and management of the Contract Amendment process, including a process improvement task under a Six Sigma framework.Management and refinement of the Alliance level reporting effort.Analysis of Alliance level program performance.Management of Alliance level issue management and action tracking for Alliance Management Team.Coordination and hosting of Alliance Management Team meetings.Assisting with Project Governance effort across a range of program management activities, including Risk Management, Issue Resolution, Stakeholder engagement and Performance Analysis.

Project Manager for the implementation of new software builds for the Data Management System on the AP-3C aircraft.Management of software development through all lifecycle phases including requirements analysis, design, coding and acceptance testing (with teams of 12 – 18 engineers).Deputy Program Manager for a team of 26 engineers.Working under ADF TAMM framework and ISO9001 QM systems.

Worked as the Technical Lead for a small team analysing the performance of the Data Management System software and hardware. Responsibilities including CAM duties, liaising with the customer and supervision of a small team of engineers.

Senior Software Engineer working as a subcontractor on site at DSTO developing a Special Forces platform modelling application. Based on open source GIS and I designed and developed enhancements to the system and acted as prime point of contact with the customer and end-user.On the AP-3C Support Program I worked as a software systems engineer developing enhancements for the Data Management System on board the AP-3C aircraft. I analysed software changes, liaised with operators, developed and tested solutions and support the change through the entire systems engineering lifecycle.

Senior Software Engineer working as a subcontractor to CSC on the prototype Ground Station for JP 129 Airbourne Surveilance System, on-site at DSTO.Senior Software Engineer on JORN developing the Network Management CSCI.
