Born and raised in the Youngstown, Ohio area Matthew lived and worked for many years throughout the country before ultimately coming back "home" in 2009. Formally trained as a commercial real estate investment advisor while working at Grubb & Ellis Tampa, FL offices Mr. Heikkinen eventually made the move to a smaller boutique commercial real estate investment firm where he was part of a select team involved in over $750 million of commercial assets transacted between 2004 - 2008. Prior to entering real estate related fields, Matthew held a senior management position in Washington Mutual Bank's 1031 Exchange department, heading their Southeastern U.S. division also based out of Tampa Bay.Mr. Heikkinen has experience with: commercial leasing, property acquisitions/dispositions, real estate tax lien acquisitions, short sales, private equity strategies, as well as tenancy in common (TIC) investments and 1031 exchanges. Matthew is a member of several real estate investment organizations throughout the Midwest & Southeastern part of the United States. He holds an active real estate license in the states of Ohio and Florida and is also State certified to teach continuing education to Real Estate Licensees and CPA's. He prides himself on this ethical business practices, a continued emphasis on open dialogue, and his creativity.
