I assisted the process advisor of Third-Party Waste Stewardship and ESHIA (Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment) with preparing for an internal audit. My main duties during this time involved reviewing technical process documents and associated guidance documents, collating waste data and receipts, and undertaking document management system tasks. My assistance allowed the Process Advisor to be adequately prepared for the audit and allowed the company auditors to undertake their jobs quickly and easily.

With WA Oil my main task was being the environmental data manager for the asset. I was responsible for collating, analysing and reporting all environmental data produced by the asset to satisfy our internal, licensing, and legislative reporting requirements.

I undertook my honours work at the Biodiversity Conservation Centre in King Park Botanical Gardens, investigating the impacts of seed storage conditions on longevity and viability of endemic orchid species. I was also employed as a Laboratory Assistant assisting PhD students developing plates of agar medium for growing seed, sterilizing seed collections, propagating seed, and scoring germination.

I was awarded this scholarship through Chevron oil and gas to undertake a three-month work placement on Barrow Island, working alongside the Environmental Specialists and Technicians and assisting them with their daily activities. Main duties involved undertaking vegetation disturbance audits, updating the historic vegetation disturbance database, responding to environmental incidents, and developing a waste tracking system in response to new corporate requirements.

I worked at Southern Geoscience Consultants whilst undertaking my university degree. Here I developed skills in the GIS software packages ArcMap (ESRI) and MapInfo, digitizing hand drawn aeromagnetic interpretations developed by the senior Geophysicists.

I was employed by Astron to take part in the 2007/2008 Marine Turtle Track Census and Sediment Sampling Projects. As part of the track census every beach on the island is walked several times over the season and turtle tracks are counted to gain an estimate of how many adult turtles are returning to the island to breed. We also counted emerged nests and gathered nest fan data. On several of the beaches we dug metre deep holes to gather sediment for further study on the relationship between sediment and turtle nesting.
