We at Sherman and Hemstreet can negotiate selling your property, buying a new property and even manage your lease space.After renovating our downtown 150 yr. home in downtown Augusta 2007, my wife, daughter and I moved in.In 2009 I ran for public office and was elected for District One Commissioner. This was a historic victory because of the demographics of District 1 which is located in the Urban/Business of Augusta Ga. I campaigned on the 38m Trade, Exhibit, and Event Center (Augusta Convention Center) with a $12 million parking deck. which had stalled due to political gridlock but after the win, this project started before I was swore in and was completed in 2011-2012. It's doing above expectations!2012 Olin Corporation shut down the chlorine process that I operated; I chose to take an early retirement as of January 2013. This also left me with a decision to make regarding a career move with an eight-year-old daughter and not wanting to do shift work anymore. The real estate field would provide me with a more flexible schedule, giving me the ability to spend more time with my daughter and family and my community interest. I have always had a passion for growing downtown Augusta. My interest lies in the commercial side of real estate because Augusta has many opportunities for growth. To represent my constituency of 20,000 plus. To carry out my campaign pledge, getting the (TEE Center) Augusta Convention Center built. This project had been stalled for years politically. This project gave CVB the tools to attract larger events/conferences that has created economic growth for my district which four years later (2016) has spur on two new hotel announcements. The natural amenities ( riverfront, canal, historic buildings downtown) are great assets and relative untouched and ready for development. With the support of our administrator, department directors we achieve and completion of millions of dollars worth of new government buildings. There was a personal side of answering the many phone calls, follow up with there concerns, set up community meeting to educate the community on what is going on in the district and the city as a whole. It was a great previous being elected and learning the ins and outs of government, meeting other leaders at different levels of government, business and community.All of this benefits my clients real estate needs.
