    In February of 2017 I was promoted to Director of Support Service providing staff leadership to our Council Registrar, Council Accounting Specialist, as well as the Camp Ranger. Additional responsibilities included assisting in the development of the council annual budget, oversight of the service center physical plant, and overseeing all marketing operations and membership standards issues. I was also tasked with organizing a council enterprise risk management committee and provided leadership to the development of a new council five-year strategic plan. I spearheaded a new “Merit Badge Days” initiative to increase council programmatic opportunities utilizing unique local resources. This was accomplished through the development and cultivation of relationships with community organizations, business, and education institutions which led to a new sustainable net revenue stream for our council. Overseeing the field staff in their management of goals related to both Cub Scout and Boy Scout resident camp attendance, council trainings, as well as, district and event budgets were also included in my position responsibilities.

    In the fall of 2015 I was asked to serve as Program Director to improve and develop the camping and program operations of the Cape Fear Council. My responsibilities included the oversight and management of our Camp Ranger, all council camping operations, including budget development and management. Additionally, I served as the Camp Director for both Cub and Boy Scout resident camps as well as fall family camp. Beyond management of our camping operations I also oversaw the council’s website and social media platforms which included the development of a new communication plan for the council that streamlined and coordinated all our communication platforms. Throughout my tenure in this role I provided leadership to the field staff in developing and implementing camp promotion campaigns and increasing our council’s program offerings through district programming events such as camporees. In addition to my standard job duties I served as the staff adviser to the Order of the Arrow and oversaw all the Council’s training operations.

Over the course of my tenure in this position I was responsible for the development and organization of skeet shooting tournaments, dodgeball tournaments, and gulf stream fishing tournaments resulting in new net revenues of over $75,000 to the Cape Fear Council. I also provided leadership to field staff in the organization and development of annual FOS campaigns. I successfully oversaw a grant writing and United Way campaign that resulted in the purchase of program materials, camp tents, and shooting sports equipment.
