I am a terrible salesperson...My career started in radio ad sales. I went from Account Executive ➡️ Senior Account Executive ➡️ Team Leader ➡️ Key Account Manager in 8 years. When I left, my success made me think I could sell anything B2B. Multiple failures at a variety of organizations led me to a humbling realization: I wasn’t any good at sales after all.I couldn’t figure it out. Why was I so successful in radio, but couldn’t find the same success selling in any other field or industry? Then it finally occurred to me, people weren’t buying radio ads from me because I was a great salesperson… they wanted the CAMPAIGNS I came up with because they WORKED. I gave them what they wanted: results-driven advertising campaigns. I may be a terrible sales person, but I ❤️ marketing. It is my true passion. I thank God every day that I get to spend my professional career helping businesses build connections with their clients & customers.In 2023 I joined CAP3 as CMO. My CEO, Adam Tartt, & I worked together at another company for 6 years where he was the COO and I was the Marketing Director before parting in 2020. In the fall of 2022, we met back up & Adam presented me with an intriguing opportunity. At the time, CAP3’s primary service model was full-service accounting and finance, acting as Staff Accountant, Controller, & CFO for clients. “You know,” Adam said, “my clients have just as many marketing questions as they do finance questions.
