Relocation from London to Copenhagen to become Product Manager for SaxoTrader, Saxo Bank’s flagship downloadable trading platform, through which the majority of Saxo Bank’s trading volume is executed by global Retail, Institutional, Introducing Broker and White Label clients.- On arrival at Saxo Bank, rolled out extensive platform upgrades including simplified platform navigation, open positions module and account balances & margin toolbar. Achieved objectives of simplifying the platform and increasing usability. Successful roll out to all global trading platforms with minimal inbound client calls requiring support with the new features. - Launch of a universal multi asset trade ticket to consolidate trade and order placement from 14 trade tickets into 1. Asset classes include FX, FX Options (vanilla and binary), CFDs (Stocks, Indices, Commodities, Bonds, ETFs), Stocks, Futures, Contract Options, and ETFs.- Addition of Algorithmic Orders and US Pre-market Limit order to the trade ticket, giving Retail clients access to Institutional execution (Iceberg, VWAP, Reload, Implementation Shortfall, With Volume, Smart Dark).- Development and launch of a (hardware) Trading Keypad to facilitate fast Trade entry.- Working with senior management to make platform usage tracking a high priority requirement and driving the specifications for these analytics tools.- Strong contacts in global offices and regular travel to present feature roadmaps to the teams at these offices.- Presentation of Saxo Bank platforms at seminars for global Private Sales teams and White Label clients.- Lab based usability testing of new platform features in development, and the incorporation of this user feedback into feature enhancement before commercial release.

As a result of successful launch of the City Trading iPhone app, re-appointed to specifically manage the development of mobile trading software in the newly created Mobile Trading Platforms team. Remit to deliver solutions on the latest mobile handsets to consolidate the ‘first to market’ positioning (achieved as planned for both iPhone and Android apps).- Business Analysis to establish requirements for future development of trading platform user interfaces and additional platform functionality.- Running of internal and external customer focus groups to gather requirements for future development.- Creation of business case documentation to define the scope, business benefit, risks, requirements and costs of potential projects.- Communicating requirements and ideas to developers in a coherent and efficient way.- Ensuring mobile projects are adequately resourced.- Recruitment and management of outsourced development teams.- A hands-on approach to beta testing, with a passion to deliver high quality, user friendly products.- Monitoring and support of mobile trading platforms in the Live environment,including management information reporting.- Liaison with third party content providers, contract negotiation and brokering agreement between in-house and 3rd party legal teams.

Coordination of development management and business user beta-testing of iPhone App and subsequent global launch. Production of bespoke trading platforms for partners, including website content and educational materials. Migration of Blackberry, Windows Mobile and Java mobile trading platforms to new back office system. Product owner of all Trading Platforms(online, mobile) and related software (Charts, Research etc).

Position created following success in 6 month secondment replacing back office software with a new system. Objective: to bring the E*TRADE UK retail offering back into line with competition after several years of investing resources in other products (derivatives).- Grew the team that I formed as Equities Product Manager to 4 Business Analysts and 1 Quality Assurance Representative.- Member of the Markets in Financial Instruments Directive (MiFID) steering group, which oversaw the back office (trade and settlement systems) upgrades and web front end changes required to be compliant with the directive.- Point of contact for all Audit enquiries regarding the Equities product.- Solid understanding of all back office functionality covering the full trade and settlement life cycle, including client funding and reconciliation of client stock and cash positions.- Recognised as point person for any back office issues regarding client accounts and trading functionality.- Champion of the user experience and responsible for development of the user interface.- Responsible for nil impact to the customer experience during the replacement of entire back office system (6 month project).- Documentation of all control points in Customer and Trading processes, and the periodic testing of these control points to be compliant with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.- Integration of multiple Retail Service Provider hubs to connect to Market Makers for real time quote and execution of customer orders at the best possible price.- Upgrade of online trading systems to allow 90 day limit orders.

Responsible for a team of 12 Equities and Derivatives Customer Services and Sales reps, and a team of Equities Dealers.

Shortly after being hired at E*TRADE, and to aid relocation of the business to London from Cambridge, I was appointed as team leader. During this time E*TRADE launched CFD trading, products new to the business and the team. We succeeded in providing an impressive product to premium customers.
