I am expected to finalise my Bachelor of Business (Accounting) studies in May with my last class being on May 22nd. In addition to my degree, I have experience at 2 different accounting firms in GFM Accountants & Wattle Accountants. During my tenure at GFM Accountants, I underwent various tasks such as drafting letters, documents, invoices, emails and financial reports for clients. This included profit and loss statements, balance sheets and trial balances. Additionally, I also completed various income tax returns as well as Business Activity Statements. With my internship at Wattle Accountants in addition to income tax returns and Business Activity Statements I also completed duties such as payroll, bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, accounts receivable management and accounts payable management. I also listened in to my supervisor Craig as he provided management advice and analysis to clients based on their current position. Furthermore, I worked closely with Craig who would provide thorough feedback on the tasks I completed in which I would take on board and ensure I incorporate going forward. Additionally, I conducted multiple bank reconciliations for various clients at Wattle Accountants, I also completed journals to ensure accounts reconcile as well as performed month end procedures for accounts such as closing them off. In addition to the reconciliations and month end procedures, my role at Wattle Accountants required me to provide summaries of open invoices for clients to ensure they were aware of any debtors approaching their due date and any that were overdue.
