Developed methods for palladium-catalyzed enantio- and regioselective allylic fluorination, later expanding this reactivity to carbofluorination of alkenes via tandem C–C and C–F bond formation. Performed experimental and computational studies to elucidate the mechanism of these reactions, uncovering a novel bimetallic transition state for carbon–fluorine bond formation. Supervised thesis research for an undergraduate, who is currently in medical school. Spearheaded efforts to combine chemical inventories and adopt e-notebooks across the Department of Chemistry, resulting in increased efficiency and cost savings for multiple research groups. Utilized modern techniques in computational chemistry with Gaussian, MacroModel, and Jaguar.
