I have dedicated myself to the field of higher education, accumulating valuable experience over the past decade. My journey began in various undergraduate student leadership positions before transitioning into a professional career in higher education.Since 2014, I have proudly served at my alma mater, Boston University, within the College of General Studies (CGS), a distinguished 2-year liberal arts program. I initially joined as an Administrative Coordinator in July 2014, where I managed 1,200 student records annually, oversaw the external transfer credits process, and facilitated the day-to-day operations of the office.In January 2017, I transitioned into a new role as an Academic Advisor, a position I held for six and a half years. During this time, I took on the responsibility of guiding and mentoring over 230 first and second-year students annually. Additionally, I actively contributed to the university's growth and inclusivity efforts by participating in committees such as the Academic Advising Symposium Subcommittee and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee at the College of General Studies. In March 2023, I was honored to receive the Boston University Undergraduate Academic Advising Award in the Professional Academic Advisor Category.June 2023 marked the next chapter in my career as I assumed the role of Director of Student Services. In this capacity, I oversee our college's academic advising practices and standards and facilitate student course selection and registration. I'm responsible for managing advisee/advisor lists, creating advising materials, and actively participating in enrollment management. My commitment extends to enhancing advisor training, fostering ongoing assessment, and implementing holistic advising practices in support of student success. In this position, I supervise the Assistant Director of Student Services along with two Assistant Registrars.Throughout my journey in higher education, I have been fortunate to witness the transformative impact of education on individuals and society. I am dedicated to fostering student success, promoting equity, and contributing to the continued growth of our educational institutions.My passion for higher education drives me to continuously seek opportunities for professional development and innovation in support of our students and the broader community. I look forward to connecting with like-minded professionals and collaborating on initiatives that support student success and increase access to higher education.
