Tape library functions in the form of cataloging backup tapes, performing onsite/offsite tape rotation, and disposal of media. Maintaining, updating, and creating documentation for computer operations, i.e. Backup tape processes, Surplus of equipment, and Scheduling processes via IBM Mainframe.I maintain and update in-house production schedule program; assemble and maintain daily computer schedules. Monitor and submit batch jobs, detecting discrepancies in processed output and identifying errors. I coordinate with users and programmers to assist in scheduling needs; communicating special processing instructions with other IT personnel.Additionally, I monitor backups for over 300+ clients using HP Data Protector, performing restores on demand and communicating with customers regarding backup/restore status.I gained the challenge of sorting through 1,000+ excess equipment/surplus during a transition of the department to a different location and continued it on after. I would coordinate through email and ServiceNow’s ticketing system.
