I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN GIVEN THINGS TO FIX: failing projects, disenchanted clients, dysfunctional teams, and poor interorganizational relationships. The first steps in solving problems is recognizing them, and identifying causes, and looking upstream to prevent them going forward. Some of the ways I do this include:►Tracking metrics and identifying risks before they are issues►Analyzing trends, trying different methods, testing, measuring and repeating►Growing staff capabilities, cross training and building bench strength►Listening to clients (staff, peers, leaders). What they’re saying and what they’re not saying. Understanding their needs, meeting, then exceeding, and then anticipating them►Giving clients feedback, but following their direction. They know their business better than you do At my essence, the thing that MAKES ME TICK is a joy in getting things done. Does anything else matter if you don’t? I have worked at all levels of organizations and enjoy strategical roles and deep dives. I prefer not to be a climber but rather a connector. I enjoy building productive relationships within my company, my client organizations, and in my ever-growing networks. I’m a LIFELONG LEARNER– first because it’s fun, but also because conditions change, and targets move. To stand still is to fall behind.
