With over 12 years of experience in the healthcare industry, I am a passionate and dedicated leader in surgical services management. I have a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics, which equip me with the skills and knowledge to optimize the technical and operational aspects of surgery, anesthesia, and post-operative care. I am committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered, and cost-effective services that align with the mission and vision of MercyOne, a renowned health system in Iowa. I value collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, and I strive to bring diverse perspectives and experiences to my team and organization.As the Director of Surgical Services at MercyOne, I oversee the operating room, post-anesthesia care unit, same-day and ambulatory surgery, digestive health, and central processing. I manage the surgical scheduling and billing, support the equipment, technology, software, documentation, compliance, troubleshooting, and quality reporting processes, and collaborate and communicate with the sterile surgical staff and anesthesia. I also train and develop new staff, and ensure patient safety needs are met. I have successfully led and implemented several projects, such as the expansion of the operating room capacity, the integration of new software systems, and the improvement of patient satisfaction and retention rates. I have also demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and project management skills throughout my career.
