Technical Achievements• Led the company’s transition to server virtualization, beginning in 2003, transforming the company’s primary service offering to bring full server functionality to mass market web hosting• Designed, built, and maintained custom software for web hosting automation controlling a platform consisting of more than 1,500 physical servers and over 8,000 virtual servers – functions included platform health/configuration reporting, customer resource provisioning automation, server configuration management automation, customer resource performance monitoring, network resource partitioning, and data protection automation• Designed and built a SAN volume access arbitration system to create a SAN-backed virtualized server platform allowing hundreds of customers to transparently and seamlessly move live system images from local storage to SAN storage, and migrate between hardware nodes without downtime• Designed, wrote, and maintained corporate billing software that handled recurring and demand billing for over 7,000 customers• Designed and built a REST API framework implementing API keys and query signing that was used across all company software projects and systems to enable secure sharing of data and allow process automation
