Mr. Mallet has practiced employment and business law for nearly two decades, after gaining valuable trial experience as a deputy district attorney for nearly two years. He is an experienced litigator, having litigated a range of cases in state and Federal Courts, including claims involving wrongful termination, whistleblower actions, discrimination, retaliation, harassment, breach of fiduciary duty, corporate and partner dissolutions, intellectual property and breach of contract. Mr. Mallet has represented clients in civil trials, arbitration, and before state appellate courts. Mr. Mallet has had 15 cases go before a jury, in addition to having a number of cases heard as bench trials. He is a certified mediator and has conducted more than 12 arbitrations, usually serving as the chief arbitrator. Throughout his career, Mr. Mallet has engaged in every aspect of case management, including advising clients, developing case strategies, drafting pleadings, engaging in discovery, including taking or defending depositions, drafting and arguing motions, conducting witness examinations at trial, preparing cases for ADR or trial, negotiating and drafting settlements, drafting appeals, and arguing appellate cases. He has litigated on behalf of both individuals and businesses in states other than California, on a pro hac vice basis, including Delaware and New York. He has been involved in mediations and arbitrations on behalf of clients in forums such as the NASD, the American Arbitration Association and JAMS. Between 2016 and 2019, Mr. Mallet was a member of the Board of Directors of the Conference of California Bar Associations (“CCBA”), a justice advocacy organization he has been involved with for more than 12 years. He participated in the CCBA as a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco’s Delegation (“BASF”) to the CCBA for all of those 12 years, having served as secretary and later chair of the BASF Delegation. This past year, Mr. Mallet was the leader of the BASF Delegation’s Labor and Employment study group.Mr. Mallet earned his J.D. from the University of California at Berkeley School of Law and his B.A. from the University of San Francisco.
