Matthew is an advocate dedicated to reshaping the narratives around mass incarceration. He has 2 years of experience in the advocacy and organizing space with experience in assisting multiple campaigns. In his work with The Peoples Lobby USA and Dream.Org he has developed the skills to develop and deliver different communications pieces to start reframing the counter narratives necessary to create policy change. He is currently in the Dream.Org Justice Cohort of 2024 where he is sharpening his community organizing, lobbying, and other skills necessary in creating campaigns.In addition to this current experience, he has worked on The Illinois Coalition to End Permanent Punishments campaign to host a documentary screening at Wheaton College, IL. He is a bridge builder, a connector, and is people first. He is indirectly impacted by the criminal legal system through the incarceration of his father and is able to bring this unique lens to places where these experiences are not highlighted.Matthew is a Canva wizard and is particularly obsessed with design details. He is currently seeking full time roles in the criminal legal systems change space where he will be allowed to showcase his strengths and continue his journey in political and grassroots organizing.
