The Marine Pest Sectoral Committee develops and coordinates the implementation of harmonised, national arrangements to identify, minimise and address the pest risk to Australia’s marine environment and associated industries, and plays an advocacy role within Government for highlighting the impact of marine pests on Australia’s marine environment and associated industry.

The Indigenous Reference Groups (IRG) role is to ensure that fishing and seafood industry focused Research, Development & Extension (RD&E) delivers improved economic, environmental and social benefits to Australia’s Indigenous people. The IRG is expertise based, advisory in nature, and makes recommendations to FRDC on strategic issues relevant to Indigenous RD&E in the fishing and seafood industry.
