I work with both Australian and international clients to protect their inventions across a diverse range of technologies, including polymers, composites and coatings, electrochemical devices, catalysis, minerals processing, materials science, printing and oil and gas technologies. My busy practice in the Chemistry and Life Sciences Group at Phillips Ormonde Fitzpatrick focuses on drafting of patent specifications and prosecuting of local and international patent applications.I have also served as an in-house IP Manager, managing the Energy and Agricultural IP portfolios at CSIRO, Australia's largest science and technology research organisation, during an 11-month secondment. I first developed an interest in intellectual property as a scientist and research group manager at Sasol Technology R&D. In this role I was an inventor on multiple patent applications, and responsible for developing and prosecuting a large global patent portfolio related to chemical manufacturing and catalyst technology. My experience of developing, protecting and commercialising innovative technology within an industrial environment enables me to me to provide pragmatic advice to clients on securing their intellectual property.I have a PhD in chemistry, and wide-ranging technical expertise from both industrial and academic spheres, including homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis, oil-and-gas technology, organic and organometallic synthesis, characterisation of nano-materials, polymer science and industrial process technology.
