• Management and delivery of £26m of motorway surfacing works completed from September 2009 to May 2010.• Hanson operated as a Specialist to the MAC and works included asphalt planning and resurfacing, asphalt extrudakerb installation, white lining, traffic loops, verge reinstatement and the safe and responsible removal of tar bound macadam.• Responsible for signing off of all Target Cost agreements with the client.• Developed a team with managers from various regions of the business and freelance staff to manage ten Hanson surfacing gangs and up to 400 subcontractors.• Responsible for ensuring the project team thoroughly understood the scope of works, methodology and commercially allowed resources required to complete the works in line with the clients programme.• The contract health and safety files were completed in compliance with IMS procedures.• Works were managed and executed in a safe manner and to the quality standards demanded by the Highways Agency.• Management of cost certainty was controlled.• Agreement of final accounts and settlement of all compensation events.• Successful completion of Highways Agency H&S audit for the Hanson business for 2010.
