I am serving as an analyst for the House and Senate Education Committees during the 2021 legislative session.

I worked with the OSU Policy Analysis Laboratory, which partners with local organizations to provide research and analytical services on current issues related to public policy. Recently, I conducted a qualitative research project on civic engagement in South Corvallis, which included interviews with city officials and residents, attending public meetings, analysis and coding of qualitative data, and presentation of findings to community members. Previously, I assisted with a research project on social activism surrounding energy policy initiatives, which included a review of academic literature, application of social theory, extensive coding and content analysis of a large data set, and quantitative analysis and reporting of findings.

During this summer internship, I was tasked with creating a new and updated version of the Best Practices for Urban Renewal Agencies document published by OEDA. This necessitated the drafting of a new chapter on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), addition of content surrounding new laws and policies on urban renewal, solicitation of case studies from urban renewal practitioners from around the state, and production of an overall clean and polished look for the document. I used my knowledge of the legislative process to track the progress of relevant bills and participated in regular conference calls, drafted summary text that explained the law's provisions to the reader, used Adobe InDesign to make major changes to the document's layout and content, and interviewed OEDA members to solicit feedback and case studies to include.

As a member of the Legislative Policy and Research Office, I facilitated meetings of the House Committee on Education, track the progress of bills and measures through the legislative process, assist with policy analysis, managed technical aspects of committee hearings and interacted with the public to assist with questions or concerns about matters facing the committee. I also participated in a workgroup on data visualizations and presented a report that made recommendations.

I assisted Bean Counter with expanding their political operations in the Portland area during the 2016 election cycle. This included setting up and deploying technical solutions, developing financial reporting processes for ORESTAR and internal systems, and writing internal training documents to assist oncoming staff members.

Backpacked through 11 countries in Asia. These included Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia (including Borneo), Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Philippines, Myanmar, Vietnam, Japan and South Korea.

As Lead Support Technician, I oversaw the operations of the Technology Service Center under the Tech Center Manager. I supervised the Tech Center staff in their daily tasks, which included supporting students, faculty and staff at Concordia with computers,classroom instructional technology, learning management systems and the university network. I also developed, optimized and documented the processes for handling daily interactions via a support ticket system and other internal tools.

I supported owners of various Apple products, including iPhone, iPod Touch and Mac computer hardware and software, with technical questions and issues over the phone. I was promoted to be a specialist in the iApps team (supporting iPhoto, Garage Band, Pages, Keynote, etc.) and was asked to join the Tier 2 support team. I frequently assisted with training new team members and wrote instructional documents for newly supported products.

I oversaw the service desk at MacForce, a local Apple computer repair company. In this customer-facing role, I handled all computer check-ins, check-outs, phone calls, technical consultations and on-site appointment scheduling.

I assisted a small technical support company with my expertise in Apple computer products. This included deploying home server systems and networks, personal computer support and handling a backlog of maintenance tasks.
