In 2021, I devoted my time to being a full time father, and when the little guy slept, to coding. I completed a personal goal to learn Django and rewrite my personal website. Other engagements include pushing a steady stream of code to several small projects in my publicly available repositories (please see my website for links to those repos).In August of 2020, I became a dad. In 2018 (through 2019) I discovered how far I would go for the one(s) I love; I'm good for at least 7342 miles. That is, my wife and I, along with our two cats, moved from north Texas to Shanghai to be closer to her family. In Shanghai, a total immersion in Mandarin helped me learn some of the Chinese language. My visa status combined with the close proximity to a myriad of ancient cultures and countries empowered us to visit dozens of sites across China, Cambodia, Indonesia, South Korea, and Thailand. Ultimately, I developed a global perspective, a taste for diverse food, a deep respect for Chinese culture, and strengthened family ties.

During my time as a Software Engineer III at Cisco, I had the wonderful opportunity to work with Cisco's best on a variety of projects using many languages and technologies. Some of the highlights include:• Worked towards developing a machine learning log analysis tool for Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) logs in Python and Java.• Implemented D-Bus for the Cisco internal TNGpi testing framework in Twisted Python. • Helped work on a Java based D-Bus interface for Cisco 8800 Series IP Phones. • Created an augmented reality mobile application (proof of concept) using C# and the Unity engine to serve as a CUCM endpoint. • Maintained a Spring Framework and MySQL web app to coordinate and manage the release of documentation and firmware.• Lead developer for a Cisco internal, Java-based, Intelligent Performance Automated Framework (IPAF); a framework to aid in the performance evaluation and development of the CUCM.
