I make things happen.Programs, projects, products. Services, operations and technology. I love to take on new concepts in new areas. So far, I have been lucky enough to work across IT, managed services, health, aviation and events in both government and corporate environments. While my roles have varied across these sectors, management and delivery have remained steady features in my career. To-date I have been a: Program Manager, Product Owner, Project Manager, Business Manager, Chief of Staff, Operations Manager, Services Manager, Event Manager.Through working with clients, I help to identify and solve problems. I creatively find different and new approaches, then build a plan that will work without breaking anything or anyone – setting people up to do their best in their roles. I then stay across all the moving parts to try and make sure nothing goes wrong. But let’s be real. In project-land, there is something that inevitably goes awry. When it does, I’m across the detail so I can spot problems early and adjust.I thrive on relationships – they are key to building and maintaining high performance. I often find myself ensuring different agencies and companies understand each other and are working towards a collective goal. I use a variety of methods (Agile, Waterfall, Prince2, Scrum, Kanban) when planning, managing and delivering, but I’m flexible to modify to whatever works best for a client. When I finish a piece of work, I aim to leave the place better than when I started. This might be from improved processes, stronger culture or better use of technology. Making things happen is rewarding but knowing I’ve contributed to improving things along the way gives me the most satisfaction.I also know my reputation is built on continually managing and delivering things better. That’s why I’m now heading up my own company, 1 and One with my wife Katherine. As self-confessed government experts we are excited to work with clients to help solve problems and get outcomes.
